Holy Hell

It's 98 degrees and this is no time to be messing around with your fashion. Be practical -- hot temps call for easy duds. Throw on whatever feels comfortable and breathable. Is that a word? Suitable For Sun

Today I got to have a quick love fest with one of my bestie's babes. Let me tell you straight up -- these are two of the cutest nugs in the land. Full of personality, sass and style. Both were working some lizziecoleman approved footwear - pink sparkly flops on Layla (4 going on who knows what) and aqua/orange Adidas sneaks on Alex (3). They were headed to the beach and as I hugged them good bye, I whispered to Layla to have fun, rock a cute "bu-kini" and wear sunscreen. She seemed to track with the first two points, but not the latter. She'll get there. For my adult friends who are already there, check out these options from Mara Hoffman. Pending what suits your fancy, you can cover up with her caftan or lather up in some serious SPF 30 and this bikini. I like em' both. 

Mixer

Some of my most favorite bracelets can always be found at Calypso and their latest Summer collection of goodness did not disappoint. When in Phoenix last month, my bestie, goddaughter and I all got friendship bracelets. Or as my goddaughter calls them for short and in code "FB's". Today I mixed my Pave, my Gold wrap, my Love and my Beauty charm. All collected at different times and places. Calypso always being a go-to. Happy Thursday night everyone. 

F' It

Got To Have It

My new summer bag purchase is backordered until July 17th and that just won't do. So I'm hoping to find her during my current travels. Two cities down and no such luck. Three more to go, and here's hoping, next up-Phoenix not only brings me lots of love and fun with my bestie and her babes, but my new Alexander Wang Rocco Leather Satchel ... in red ... with the adorable signature footed hardware. 

My Met Moment

I'm still reeling over Monday's poor attempt at honoring one of fashion's greatest nights and events of the year. Jessica Biel, come on! Kristen Stewart's Balenciaga almost made me e-bay my entire 'iaga handbag collection, which I covet. January Jones shopped at McDonalds apparently. And Christina Ricci looks like a sea urchin stuck in a conk shell. I really should have been there to save face for all of them. Had I -- this would have been my moment. I know I know, that name sort of throws the whole look, but the color makes it. Trust. 

Thank You LBJ

Sorry to drop off the grid for the last week. But I'm here. It's probably a good thing I was taking it easy so that I can use all my saved up energy on a serious Met Gala beat down today. Oh, my, gah' -- I have never seen such insults to high fashion and couture design. With the exception of maybe two or three favorites, I was generally offended, insulted and completely disappointed. Rachel Zoe and Karolina Kurkova should be hung. Beyonce should go back home and nurse that baby in the dark for the next year out of shame. SJP, don't even get me started girl, someone needs to take you back to your little house on the prairie and tie you to a tree. And Gwynnie, oh god, this was not Disney on Ice, and tuck your boob back in for the love. If it wasn't for Scarlett Jo, I'd feel all was lost. But thanks to her beauty and Dolce choice, there is hope. 

Namesake

This past Saturday night, my cousin and his fiance had their engagement party. For some odd reason, my entire family showed up wearing purple. A popular color for the Toms family apparently. Then, coincidentally today I stumbled upon these cuteness, with a capital CUTE, little TOMS in their new "Purple Palmetto". I guess my family and that color go hand in hand. Now I just need to get these shoes in my hands. I mean, on my feet. 

Lucy In The Sky

This post is in honor of a little baby girl named Lucy. She was born last Wednesday in Charlotte, has cute little round eyes, brown hair, belongs to my bestest friend Zelle and is absolutely perfect. And yet, completely unexpected. I don't think anyone on this planet thought Zelle would have a girl. But she did and now it's time to celebrate with all things femme ... like diamonds! Or in this case swarovski crystals and precious gem stones will do just fine. So in celebration of sweet Lucy's arrival, embrace your inner girly girl and wear your bling bright, shiny and brilliant. Brain Freeze

What the helzzz, is up with this weather? The only thing good about this colder temp set back is an excuse to wear my Fiorentini and Baker boots one or two more times before Fall. And an excuse to pay tribute to them here. Got em' in the black Eternity Buckled shorties a year ago, and in the tobacco talls this past December. I recommend them. That is all.
