Got To Have It

My new summer bag purchase is backordered until July 17th and that just won't do. So I'm hoping to find her during my current travels. Two cities down and no such luck. Three more to go, and here's hoping, next up-Phoenix not only brings me lots of love and fun with my bestie and her babes, but my new Alexander Wang Rocco Leather Satchel ... in red ... with the adorable signature footed hardware.

Forget You

Just as I was easing into my summer groove and loading up on all new duds for the next three months, Burberry has to drop their Fall 2011 collection on me. I am speechless, which we all know is rare. Forget you summer, the funds are being reallocated to Fall. STAT.

Speeding Up

I know it's a sign of weakness to shop out of boredom, so -- I guess that makes me weak. But it's also Spring and there's pep in my step. So to compliment my stride, I am feeling out a new Speedy and thinking of speeding up to a 40 monogram. I know, I know. I have said that I don't like anything monogramed. That stance remains; exception being Louis Vuitton bags and money clips.

Angels on High

Hi lovelies. Sorry again for an unusual week of posts. I had to travel to Texas as you know. But I'm back; and with some serious Monday dish. Lady Gaga. Love her music, appreciate her self-expression, but, will never forgive her recent act of fashion sacrilege. Check it! Unless you live under a rock, you have heard the Alleluia chorus from angels on high that is -- an Hermes Birkin. A bag that averages $20,000, requires a waiting list to purchase, and is coveted by nearly all of mankind is never to be anything but worshipped. And what does Miss Gaga do to hers, she graffitis it. She takes a black marker and draws scribble on it like a child to a coloring book. Well like a child, she needs to be sent to her room. And I’m holding onto the key. Gaga, you’re done to me until further notice. (Hermes Runway)

LC Shop-It Reco: Because Birkins are beyond, they don’t even exist on Hermes’ site. As you know, it takes a call, visit, name dropping and still, a whole lot of patience to get one. Unless you want to go second hand on EBay. Mini sacrilege in my POV.

The Miuccia Way

One of my super soft spots is Prada cosmetic cases. I have several. Each in a different color. Each a different style. And each a size to its own. That’s the Miuccia way. She says you should have an assortment of her nylon bags in your purse or on your make-up counter at any given time. I find it most delightful to open my handbag to be greeted by my fun, feminine collection. A blue for lipsticks and glosses, a black for tissues and perfume samples, an orange for my eyeglasses and a purple for touch up make-up. (Prada 09)

LC Shop-It Reco: Visit The Find to shop for the colors, styles and sizes that suit your sense of Miuccia.

Order Up, One Chichi

There's a couple of times a year when I look into the deep abyss that is my closet, lock eyes with an item and gasp, "Mon Dieu!". Yes, it's true, even I experience fashion fowl purchase. And my victims are usually the result of impulse or over consumption. Neither of which ever produce long-term likeable items. Both of which are easily correctable with consignment. So while someone becomes the new owner of my Summer '08 Marc Jacobs pool tote (you know, the nylon one that came in black and hot pink with the big MJ initials?), I'll be investing in a Summer '09 correctional purchase. If you own said tote, or other such "Mon Dieu's" like LL Bean (double "MD" for monogram), Hervé Chapelier, Longchamps or Orla Kiely, let me introduce my new bag crush. The Chichi. From the mountains of Central America, Maggie Dunn brings us these beautiful, artful, and functional style statements. I'm in love with the color choices, the soft leather, the handles (lotta' love!), and perfectly oversized proportions. Which is an easy bag screw up, but the Chichi is true to the right oversize. I'm totally feeling Kate Moss goes Ibiza, Jessica Alba pilates, Kate Hudson play date with Ryder and Nicole Richie Santa Monica shopping. These bags are all about what's next and are on the fast track from the hands of their authentic craftsmen to the hands of those who put the hot, in hot. Get in on it first. And order up, one Chichi!
