Don't Rush The Fuss

Red makes me happy. It has a bite. It’s electric. And this photo’s colorful and eccentric incorporation of red is just the inspiration I need to start a new week. The other key however is finding that transitional Monday piece. My two cents -- don’t rush the fuss if you can get away with it. When I’m not feeling fussy, my go to is any soft, easy cotton tee. Aka, comfort food of fashion. You can still feel weekend-comfortable while going either cas’ with some skinny jeans, a scarf for dimension, or dressed up with a full skirt for personality. Either way, in your favorite tee (red stripes for me), you’re sure to ease into Monday in comfortable and colorful style. (British Vogue 07)

Happy Sexy Weekend

I have a beef with a couple of end of week incidents. First, how did I get on the mailing list for Lands End, L.L. Bean, Garnet Hill, and PB Kids? All four of these catalogs were stuffed into my mailbox last night; clearly, someone else is missing their mail right now. Second, under all that madness lay my March W. Yay. But there she was, starting up at me, “Jen”. Ms. Paper Cut herself. Boo. Along with co-star Gerald Butler, who does nothing for me. But I gave this cover duo a chance and flipped to their “Turn Up the Heat” seven page spread. Cold. Only someone like Jennifer Aniston could make sexy so bland, uncomfortable, and unnatural. Snooze. And then there’s my girl Kate -- a for sure natural at turning up the heat. I love her recent Roberto Cavalli ad. The energy, the beauty, the kind of sexy that makes me want to dress up in my own mini moment, killer heels, and turn up some Akon. Na Na Na Na. So ladies, put your W’s down and have a happy sexy weekend! (Just Cavalli Spring/Summer 10)
