Mix, Match It Up

I'm excited to bring my fedora back out this Spring. But it's not the hat that makes me happy in this pic from Lanvin's Resort 2011 collection -- it's the everything. Literally the layering of everything. Prints, textures, pieces, patterns and colors. Mix, match it up. All of it. That's what I love.

So, What?

I'm so tired. So drained. So, what? Yeap, this expression perfectly captures my current mood. And I'm actually sitting here in a sweater like this wooly one from Prada Fall '10 with my lace up moccasin slippers and crazy hair. It's what I call my "CGAF" look. And it's perfect for a so, what? kind of night. Night.

Swan-Like Juxtaposition

I finally saw Black Swan last night. Oh my ga'. I loved it! The cinematography, art direction, editing, casting, and story. The extreme duality of the Swan Princess and Black Swan, the transformation, the coexistence, the journey of perfection through self-destruction. Intense. Loved it. And love this beautiful swan-like juxtaposition from Dolce and Gabbana's Spring collection.

Make Believe

If I was a famous actress or even some famous actress' minion, I'd have worn this Elie Saab to the Golden Globes tonight. Gold, sexy, femme sophistication and elegance. Playing make believe is fun. I can't wait to pick something out for the Oscars.

I Heart Halston

I could live and die in Halston. Kind of like Carrie did in SATC II. Well, she didn't die -- but I think she wore at least 10 pieces. And I died for each one of them. The heritage silk pleated dress is an all time favorite. And a soon to be occupant of my closet. Ship Date 2.7.11.

My Kate W's

Someone at the office remarked that by the types of books at my desk that I would have Vogue's on my coffee table at home. I corrected him, I have W's. And a very rare collection of Kate Moss W's to be exact. Every few months I rotate them -- top of the stack this month is Gold Standard March 2005. Love the angles, the yellow heat, and low structure of the dress.

Wintry Wear

A true source of happiness for me is how snow has found its way back to Virginia. We haven't had winters like the past two since I was a little girl. I loved sledding down my parents' backyard hill, building igloos, selling snow cones and making snow angels of course. As an adult though, I just love the cozy, comfy wintry wear. My collection of which has much improved since the days of bib pants, CB jackets, and moon boots.

Inspired Images

I haven't blogged in forevs. Pathetic. I'm convinced that to be a good blogger, you have to be a full time blogger. Easier said than done when you're already a full timer. So for now, maybe just some simple posts with inspired images that might inspire you and your personal expression. I've had this one saved to my desktop for months. I love the sense of urban escape and soft, yet dramatic styling.
